THANE: Echoing NCP chief Sharad Pawar's call for a Maharashtrian prime minister, former Lok Sabha Speaker and Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi on Sunday said his party will prefer a Marathi 'manoos' for the top post.
"Shiv Sena will prefer a Maharashtrian prime minister," Joshi said on the sidelines of a book release function here.
"Sena would go with BJP in Lok Sabha polls," he said, adding that the names of the Shiv Sena candidates for the Lok Sabha polls would be announced within four days.
Recently, on a campaign in Madha Lok Sabha seat in Western Maharashtra, Pawar had said that there was a "general feeling in the state" that Maharashtra should get the chance for the country's top job after leaders from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka got the opportunity.
